The proposed Mixed Use Complex is located on an arterial road of 100’, a State highway passing through Karimnagar city of Telangana. Due to a rectilinear shape of site, there was not much scope of entry plaza. The aim was to create mixed-use in five-floors accommodating mainly Retail area, offices spaces and restaurant. The main entrance to the site is from abutting 100’ road on north, dedicated for shoppers and southern side entrance from 30’ wide road shall be for office spaces.
Too many stairs to reach a shopping level demeans the customer, this lacuna led to an idea of half stairs of 10 steps making the landing of each flight of steps as retail space. Psychologically shoppers shall feel they don’t take too many steps for shopping, creating a charming transition from one level to the other with visual connection to below and above floors. Thus, providing a free movement and hassle free shopping.
The building structural system is based on concrete cores – a shear walls system allowing column free space, a contiguous shopping experience, a visual connection to other spaces.
The porous façade of the building will increase its urban visibility and natural light brought ample in daytime and also visitors shall have view of “Manair “reservoir. The skin’s transparency offers a variable image of the complex, as per hour of the day and quality of light.
